Who We Are
Woodland Pulp is the largest employer in Washington County, with approximately 310 employees. Woodland Pulp is a cornerstone in the town of Baileyville and has been since the early twentieth century.
Today, Woodland Pulp produces St. Croix Hardwood, a type of pulp made from locally sourced wood. Our high quality pulp is sold to paper makers all over the world. Starting in 2016, our affiliate company, St Croix Tissue, consumes a portion of the pulp we produce.
We strive to uphold our committment to environmental stewardship. Over the years, we have taken steps to shrink our environmental footprint. Woodland Pulp supports responsible forestry practices to ensure environmental sustainability for future generations.
We strive to be a low-cost producer of superior quality pulp with the lowest possible amount of environmental impact. We strive to provide a healthy and safe environment for our employees, contractors, and visitors.
Our mill is located on the St. Croix river, which forms a natural boundary between Maine and New Brunswick. The mill is almost entirely self-sufficient with roughly 80% of power generation originating from renewable sources. We are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact on our community. Our commitment to environmentally safe practices is one of our top priorities.
